A form of Chinese acupuncture,
auriculotherapy uses meridian points found in the ear to channel the
bodys energy into healing.
What
is auriculotherapy?
Auriculotherapy uses acupuncture meridians found in the ear to connect to
the body organs and systems. Thirty reflex points found in each ear affect
other body parts when they are stimulated. In 1989, auriculotherapy was
recognized by the World Health Organization.
Auriculotherapy is useful in controlling and treating
dyslexia and pain.
What
tools are used?
Auriculotherapy normally uses needles similar to acupuncture needles
that are a half inch to one inch long. As well, some auriculotherapists
use laser acupuncture machines, pressure metals, and pressure seats
as alternatives to needles. In laser auriculotherapy, the pulse rate
is measured as a laser is shone in the ear, in order to determine
where the body is feeling stress. |

conditions are most often treated by auriculotherapy?
Auriculotherapy has been especially useful in controlling and treating
dyslexia, pain, and other functional disorders. It is a useful treatment
for many nervous disorders.
Is auriculotherapy safe
for everyone?
Auriculotherapy is generally a safe procedure, although you should
avoid it if you are pregnant or have a heart condition. Young children
respond well to auriculotherapy.
